In Loving Memory of Carmen de Lavallade (1931-2025).
1960 saw the famed choreographer/dancer in the CBS television program "Camera Three" performing the dance piece "Portrait of Billie" which she debuted a year earlier with choreographer John Butler. It seems very ahead of its time, especially showing a black woman and a white man dancing so intimately together, portraying the life of a singer who was a drug addict. Of course Billie Holiday was much more than that but of course during her lifetime her drug problems prevented her from being on television shows such as Ed Sullivan's.
I'm very excited to show this with you all and I hope you enjoy. Happy New Year!

Hello friends! Sorry for the delay in content, I was finishing up my last semester of college and I now have a Bachelors in Cinema! Now that I'm done with school I'll have a little more free time to post more content.
