a very bittersweet announcement:
i'm officially retiring from (at least regularly) creating and posting mashups.
i started fiddling around with audacity & teaching myself how to mix in 2012. even though i was absolutely god awful, i loved it. i loved creating. i've always been involved in music whether it was learning the violin or singing in chorus classes from 5th grade until my high school graduation. mixing became my comfort just like singing did back in the day. music will always be my comfort.
i remember LOVING making mashups every single day. and even when i pulled it back to one or two uploads per week, i still loved it.
these last 1-2 years have felt very different, and these last few months before my laptop kicked the bucket were when i struggled the most. i haven't been enjoying making mashups, and i haven't been the most satisfied with what i've managed to come up with (bar a few exceptions. "shots with rasputin" is a banger in my heart). i kept pressuring myself to upload as much as i could. i fully stressed myself out. in a weird way, i feel as though my laptop dying was a blessing. i've been toying with when to bow out from regularly uploading & the dead laptop forced me to stop.
i'm proud of what i've accomplished. i'm honored by all the news articles and artists acknowledging and sharing my work. i'm incredibly grateful for the hella supportive and patient and talented friends i've made from of our shared hobby. and i am the most grateful by everyone who has followed/subscribed/supported me through the years. y'all are wonderful and i thank you from the bottom of my lil heart.
i PROMISE if and when i come up with a concept that i am loving and absolutely proud of, i will upload it. and as always, my twitter is alive and well (i just tweeted about egg salad) and will be the best spot for updates.

lil hiatus update:
(look at me using the community tab for the first time we stan!!)
initially i was just gonna take two weeks off since i haven’t done that in like 6 years. and that was only because my laptop ended up being flattened.
however, my laptop died last night (as i was trying to mix for the first time in two weeks, in typical “of course that happened” fashion). mostly everything is backed up but i still have quite a bit to recover & it’s gonna take time, & i have other life stuff happening (health, family, best friend getting married, etc) so i’m gonna be easy on myself & take my time. i’m not gonna give an ETA.
twitter will be your best place for updates.

You know there is a real problem when you hear the songs alone and you start automatically adding the other in your head because after listening to this mashup so many times the original songs sound like they are missing something.
