Sounds very fishy that she would get fired after such a moment. It makes complete sense that some sort of jealousy was involved

So basically she got fired for her outstanding service and respect for her customer

The Cafe owners likely felt the tip should have gone to them over the waitstaff.

The owner probably didn't like her getting a large tip and sharing it with other employees. The owner probably wanted it all for him or herself. Greed is a terrible thing. If I am ever in that town, I won't be eating there.

I hope the person, who left the generous tip, gets in touch with Lyndsy. I hope she finds a better job.

If you tip, use cash.. if on a card, staff may never see it! Some corporations and independents have been known to steal the tips..

She shared it but others got mad because they wanted more. That’s the rub.

Unless servers typically share their tips with cooks/dishwashers etc, then she is not required to share. She shared with her server colleagues and that was beautiful! The firing seems highly questionable.

A generous and kind gesture by one, followed by an evil act by another. She was obviously a good waitress or she wouldn't have gotten such a reward. They did her a favor. Maybe now she can get a job working for someone who appreciates her.

Sounds like management and ownership didn't get their cut.

She got fired out of envy from several people. That's the plain & simple truth.

Found another news station that interviewed the actual waitress. She said that other employees were being hateful to her about the tip and she went to management about it. They then decided it would be easier to fire her than deal with all the drama. She posted her ordeal on social media and was threatened by the owner of legal action if she didn't remove her post.

Good deeds never go unpunished. I'll never eat there. If I were hungry and passing through, I'd rather eat the bark off a tree then spend money at a place whose owners are this vile, petty, greedy and evil.
