Who else is still here watching in 2026?

I always thought of it as an overgrown great white

This doesn't explain the tagged Great White that was swallowed and dragged 1500 feet deeper. The tags temp readings skyrocketed because the Great White was inside something else. Not extinct.

Claiming to know sea and all its vastness is like claiming to know the depths of outer space. Arrogance is a strange and powerful thing.

Large sperm whales reach 20 meters or more with a head shaped like a city bus, so there goes the “megalodon can’t have been bulky” theory.

I wish people would show the front of the tooth. They always, without fail, show the back.

Maybe we do have evidence of Megalodons existence today. Every time I hear about whales and dolphins beaching themselves I can't help but think that this sounds like they might be avoiding a huge predator. They keep suggesting that it's because Navy sonar screws up their internal guidance systems. It seems to me that these Critters still have eyes and other senses so they can be able to see where they're going and know that they're in shallow water and that land is close by. These animals are far from stupid. Have you ever seen a shark chasing a ray? The ray will throw itself on the beach where the shark can't get to it. I suspect that these massive beachings are because there's something in the water that they're trying to avoid. There's definitely more going on than sonar confusion- in my opinion.

A seasoned sailor claims to have had an encounter with a Great white bigger than a whale shark. Sounds to me like he encountered a Megalodon not a great white.

We don’t even know what kind of whale or hybrid the 52 htz whale is so there’s that! Plus there are species of beaked whales that were previously unknown and unseen that we just discovered are new, even though their calls have been heard and mistaken for other whales… although their calls meg may not be alive it’s not out of the realm of possibility that there is a big shark out there we know nothing about

Why are dead shark jaws always 'open'?

I have mixed feelings about this animal still being alive today, my ex husband was a officer on a Navy submarine and he has always said they never tracked anything that could be a megalodon , you would think that at some point a submarine would be attacked if this creature was still alive today. I know it’s possible that there’s creatures still alive that were supposed to be extinct, but an animal this large would need a breeding colony which would have to feed in open water to survive. It’s just hard to imagine how we would miss a shark of this size

Did we watch The Meg one too many times

The Colossus Squid are large and live in the deeper depths of the ocean, do they not? Why couldn’t the Megalodon be living on them, and the occasional blue whale?

It's likely that the last Megalodons surviving were pigmy versions. Descendants of those might exist, but probably wouldn't be Megalodons any more.
