Gospel Simplicity began as a YouTube channel in a Moody Bible Institute dorm. It was born out of the central conviction that the gospel is really good news, and I wanted to share that with as many people as possible. The channel has grown and changed over time, but that central conviction has never changed. Today, we make content around biblical and theological topics, often interacting with people from across the Christian tradition with the hope of seeking greater unity and introducing people to the beautiful simplicity and transformative power of the gospel, the good news about Jesus.

What a journey this has been. Whether you're brand new to the channel or have been watching for years, thank you for engaging with the work I do on here. The mission of Gospel Simplicity is to introduce people to beauty, truth, and goodness in the Christian tradition while bringing simplicity out of theological and historical complexity. Far more than this milestone, it's been hearing stories of how that's been the case in people's lives from across the world that has been the most meaningful to me.
So, to all of you, thank you.

Gospel Simplicity
When I got a message from my publisher telling me he had a meeting with sales reps coming up, he told me the biggest thing they’d want to see is Amazon rankings going up as an indicator people were interested.
I posted on here yesterday sharing this in the hopes that those who were on the fence about pre-ordering might do so. You all showed up big time.
While it feels a bit premature for my publisher to have chosen “Christian Classics” as the category for this book, it was super fun seeing it go to number one new release in that category and number 17 bestseller.
Of course, these numbers don’t tell the full story. There’s heavy recency bias in them, but still a joy to see nonetheless. The road to launch day is still long, but for now, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who bought a copy, shared my post, or prayed for the meeting yesterday.

Gospel Simplicity
My publisher messaged me last night telling me he's got a big meeting with book distributors today. If you've been thinking about grabbing a copy of my novel but haven't yet, picking up a copy today would mean a lot to me as we want to show them that pre-sales are going well!
The book is about a young man who unexpectedly loses his mom and decides to go on the pilgrimage of her dreams to honor her, even though he doesn't believe in God. Along the way, he meets a monk, and much of the book is about wrestling with faith, grief, and ultimately, about how all of life is about learning to pray. There's also lots of subtle nods to Celtic saints as they take St. Cuthbert's Way to Holy Island.

Good to see the first of the seven councils convened to settle matters of the nature of Christ covered. Today most who define themselves as Christians don't even know the role bishops have filled since the days of the Apostles and why they are still relevant today.
