My child had an “all I ever want is pets forever and ever!” phase and got a bunny. I have to tell you, that bunny grew on me like no dog ever has. We had such a special bond. She would circle me and pound the ground with her feet to get my attention and ear scratches. She would sit still and let me pet her for halves of hours at a time, which I am so profoundly grateful for. It was pure therapy.

My mother was smart about wee bunnies. Instead of getting angry about her vegetable garden getting filched by bunnies, she fenced it with chicken wire and then planted a Bunnies Only garden right next to it with free access, and grew all manner of Bibb lettuce, carrots, and other bunny-friendly fare. Believe it or not, it worked flawlessly. Happy bunnies, happy family, peace on Earth. Yeah...

Look at how intelligent the rabbits are. In only a few weeks they taught a human to get down on all fours and make pleasing music to them. Amazing.
