A man can change his wife, his car, his job, etc. but he will never change his football team.

It’s not brand loyalty in the UK, it’s cultural. Your team is as important as your family history, it’s bigger than politics.

Bill Shankley summed it up perfectly.

Studied in Liverpool. The passion of the local Scousers, the rich history of the city (From the Beatles to the hardworking docks community) made me a LFC for life.

The business of football works different than the way sports works in America. The clubs are all independent.

There's nothing like watching the Mighty Reds at Anfield. Nothing. It's phenomenal. Every sporting fan must experience it once in their lifetime. YNWA

It can't be replicated...it's tribalism, it's family, it's history...it's the people's game. Anfield is one of football's churches....but the passion is found in many football stadiums all over the world

I started supporting Liverpool at age 5, so that I could eat my tea (dinner) in the living room with my dad on a Saturday to watch the football scores come in…a long time ago now! Following them has kept my dad & I close, I’m the closest he’ll get to having a son

It's not a derby, it's a rivalry, a derby is when two teams from the same city play

Americans are only interested in measuring success in pure monetary terms, as this guy does here. In Europe, you are BORN to support your Team. He simply does not get it.

This is such an American way of thinking. Money and massive investment is not what makes the fans loyal. It is about where your from, your home town, city. Who your dad and family support, who your friends support. It’s about pride, passion and knowing that even when your team are at the bottom, losing every week you will still be there to support them.

Love this cast. Our team becomes part of our DNA, you see into our bones it would read like a stick of rock. I love his jealousy.
