At fifty two, I have been through the ringer with rude, pragmatic people. Forgive yourself for getting mad and impose boundaries, like you said, so it doesn't continue. Relax that anger the best you can.

Sorry I know this is an unpopular opinion but I think forgiveness is a bunch of bullshit. It depends on the degree of what someone did but all this nonsense of people forgiving their child's murderer or forgiving someone for sexually assaulting someone or any of these other circumstances of extreme violence or wrongdoing, screw forgiveness. To forgive someone is saying it is okay that they did what they did. That there is some sort of reasonable explanation somehow to justify what they did. That is 100% bullshit. I have had people wrong me severely in life and I will never ever forgive them. I'm not an angry person. I'm very kind and loving and helpful. I don't carry heat in my heart. But I absolutely do not have to forgive anyone who has severely wronged me. It will never affect me as a person. And I will never ever give those people the satisfaction of hearing me say that I forgive them. I would rather go to the grave with them knowing that it will never be okay.
