i used to be annoyed when people blackwash characters because i saw it as a double standard (everyone hates whitewashing and rightfully so but not many people speak against blackwashing) but playing tomodachi life has made me realize just how many characters in media are "white man with brown hair" and now i totally understand it
blackwashing for the sake of pandering still sucks ofc
