10:18 Colonel MacLean’s men saw him shot on the ice and dragged away by the Chinese. They sent a rescue party that failed to find him. Allan MacLean died as a POW and his remains were never recovered.

Withdrawing under fire in good order is the most difficult military maneuver. This was one of the greatest examples in modern history of a successful retrograde movement while in contact with the enemy.

The 3d terrain map really makes the situation around the reservoir much clearer!

My great uncle commanded a company of Marines there. He rarely spoke about it, but that battle haunted him until the end of his days.

Ha! I literally DID NOT KNOW this was a 'Great War' series, until 16:00 . I'm not surprised by the professionalism...

Ned Almond had a full bag of hubris, if not actual stupidity.

I like this format, although the in depth coverage of Indie and the team is more complete, this graphic format delivers a lot of information in 15 minutes or so.

General Almond was a nut. He was the best ally the Chinese could have asked for.
